Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycaemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. The increasing global prevalence of diabetes, particularly in developing countries such as India, highlights the need for effective and affordable therapeutic approaches. Herbal medicines have gained considerable attention due to their multi-targeted mechanisms, safety profile, and cost-effectiveness.
