Padhma Sree M.*, Rajani Kagga
Abstract Introduction: Flowers possess unique therapeutic qualities that make them highly suitable for women’s healthcare. Their natural origin, gentle action, and compatibility with the female body enable their safe use across different stages of life, including adolescence, reproductive age, pregnancy, puerperium, and menopause. Because of their mild yet effective pharmacological properties, floral medicines are widely valued in traditional systems of medicine for long-term and holistic care. Methods: Methods involved an extensive review of classical Ayurveda texts related to Stri Roga and Prasuti Tantra with special emphasis on references of Pushpa Dravyas in Trividha Chikitsa. Literary sources including Brihatrayee Laghutrayee and other classical compendiums were analyzed to identify the use of flowers in Daivavyapashraya, Satvavajaya and Yuktivyapashraya Chikitsa. The collected references were systematically compiled categorized and interpreted to understand their therapeutic significance and applicability in women’s healthcare. Results: Findings from the classical texts reveal that Pushpas are widely utilized as Trividha Chikitsa namely Daivavyapashraya, Yuktivyapashraya and Satvavajaya Chikitsa in Stri Roga and Prasuti Tantra.
