CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE ROLE OF VAMANA KARMA & SHASHANKLEKHADI GHANA VATI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF MANDAL KUSHTHA W.S.R. TO PSORIASIS.

Abstract Psoriasis is chronic inflammatory auto-immune disease with erythematous silver scaly plaque having relapse & exacerbation with prevalence of 0.03-2.5% in India. In Ayurveda counterpart it can be correlated with Mandal Kushtha having symptoms Shweta–Rakta Utsannamandal To develop effective Ayurvedic therapy the study was conducted in 30 clinically diagnosed patients of Psoriasis (Mandal Kushtha). All patients divided into group A and Group B. Group A advised Vamana Karma after that Shashanklekhadi Ghana Vati (Chakradatta 50/53) & Panchatikta Ghrita for Local application. Where as in Group B advised standard allopathic drug Neotrexate (Methotrexate 7.5 mg per week) & Protar lotion (Coal tar & Salicylic acid) for local application. Study carried out for two months.
