FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLYHERBAL EMULGEL ENRICHED WITH DAUCUS CAROTA, RUBUS IDAEUS SEED OIL AND SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM EXTRACT FOR ENHANCED SKIN PROTECTION

Abstract The present study aims to formulate and evaluate a polyherbal Emulgel containing Daucus carota (Carrot) seed oil, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) seed oil, and Solanum lycopersicum (Tomato)extract for topical application. Carrot seed oil is a rich source of carotenoids and antioxidants that help protect the skin from oxidative damage. Essential fatty acids and naturally occurring UV-protective substances found in raspberry seed oil aid in skin nourishment and photoprotection. Lycopene, a potent antioxidant with anti-aging and skin-protective qualities, is abundant in tomato extract. Emulgel has an advantage of both emulsion and gel. Therefore, it has dual release control system. Emulgel system is most significant for delivering the hydrophobic drugs and hence it is used for both cosmetics and therapeutic application. The formulation was prepared using suitable gelling agents, emulsifying agents, and other excipients to obtain a stable and homogeneous product and the various physiochemical parameters were evaluated.
