A CLINICAL STUDY OF “AMALAKI CHURNA WITH MADHU†IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SHWETAPRADARA W.S.R. TO LEUCORRHOEA

Abstract Shwetapradara (Leucorrhoea) in the reproductive age group is the most common complaint encountered everyday both by gynaecologists and general practitioners. It occurs in 1-14% of all women in the reproductive age group,[1] and is responsible for 5-10 million OPD visits per year throughout the world. The prevalence of leucorrhoea in India is estimated to be 30%. Leucorrhoea is a condition characterized with excessive white vaginal discharge not associated with offensive smell, pruritis, burning sensation and discomfort. So, it is a great scope of research to find out safe, potent, cost effective remedy from Ayurveda for its management. Keeping this point in view, the present clinical trial, A clinical study of “Amalaki churna with Madhu” in the management of Shwetapradara w.s.r. to leucorrhoea” was taken. The drug chosen for the present study is Amalaki churna with madhu has reference of Charaka. chikitsa.30/117.And results were assessed on the basis of the improvement in the subjective & objective parameter. The study reveals that patients of Shwetapradara after treatment showed significant improvement in chief complaints.From the above trial it is clear that Amalaki churna with Madhu can be used as a safe and effective ‘Therapeutic Agent’ in the management of Shwetapradara.
