ANTI-TB STUDY OF SOME NEW SCHIFF BASE DERIVATIVES OF 6- AMINOCOUMARIN

Abstract New Schiff base derivatives CSB01-CSB05 have been synthesized by reaction between 6-Aminocoumarin and various salicylaldehyde derivatives in ethanol under reflux in good yields (84–90%) and their biological properties have been evaluated against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (H37 RV strain). Most of the newly synthesized compounds displayed 100% inhibitory activity at a concentration of 12.5 μg/ml against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Compound CSB01- CSB04 showed most effective inhibition.
