Abstract Over three-quarters of the world population relies mainly on plants and plant extracts for health care. More than 30% of the entire plant species, at one time or other was used for medicinal purposes. The herbal products today symbolise safety in contrast to the synthetics that are regarded as unsafe to human and environment. Medical plants play an important role in the management of diseases in developing countries where resources are meager. Among them Acmella oleracea are important for their therapeutical potentials. This article reviewed the biomedical applications of Acmella oleracea Toothache, Diuretic and renal stones, Scurvey, scabies, psoriasis, Hepatoprotective, malaria, rheumatisms, gastrointestinal diseases, other biomedical uses.
