Abstract Present research concentrate on sustaine the drug release from matrix. Troxipide is a novel anti- ulcer drug. It enhances the secretion of mucus due to mucus production, HcL causing ulcers can protect. The half life of troxipide drug is less than 8hr. Matrix tablets maintain peak plasma concentration. In this research tablets were formulated with two polymers one is HPMC (semi synthetic polymer) and second one is Abelmochus esculentus mucilage powder (Natural polymer). Drug: polymer ratio was 1:1, 1: 2, 1:3. Totally 9 formulations were prepared individual polymers and in combination of polymers. Tablets were formulated by direct compression technique. The tablets were evaluated for various parameter like friability, weight variation, hardness, drug content, content uniformity. In vitro drug release study was conducted in 0.1N HcL for 3hr remaining 9 hrs drug release study was conducted in 6.8 pH phosphate buffer. All the formulations follow zero order kinetics along with diffusion mechanism. From in vitro release data F2, F5, and F7 are 97.338 %, 95. 098 %, and 92.782% respectively. All the optimized formulations drug was release by super case-II transport mechanism. Keywords: Troxipide, Abelmochus esculentus mucilage, HPMC, comparative study.
