SYNTHESIS AND FORMYLATION OF CYCLIC IMIDES USING VILSMEIER-HAACK REACTION FROM 2,6-DICHLORO-4- TRIFLUOROMETHYL ANILINE AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

Abstract A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of five and six membered cyclic imides using succinic anhydride, glutaric anhydride, 2,6-dichloro-4- trifluoromethyl aniline and acetyl chloride in presence of benzene and their formylation using Vilsmeier-Haack reaction. The synthesized compound are screened for their antimicrobial activity.
