SCREENING OF ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF TOPICAL FORMULATION OF HERBAL PLANT EXTRACT OF FAGONIA SCHWEINFURTHII HADIDI AGAINST SOME FUNGAL PATHOGENS

Abstract

Plants and plant extracts have been used for the treatment of skin disorders for centuries. Because of increasing resistance to antimicrobes against many bacteria and fungi so plant extracts and plant compounds are of new interest as antimicrobial agent in dermatology. In present work the topical preparation lotion was prepared and antifungal screening was carried out. For the preparation aqueous extract of herbal plant Fagonia schweinfurthii hadidi was used. In study three strains of fungi were used as test microorganism. The results shows that topical preparation has good potency against fungal strains.
