Abstract The present study was to estimate the preliminary phytochemical screening and in vitro anticancer activity of aerial parts of Viburnum punctatum by using solvents like Petroleum ether, Chloroform, Methanol and Water. Preliminary phytochemical analysis reveals the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, proteins, phytosterols and saponins. The chloroform and methanol extract were screened for its anticancer activity in HCT 15 cell line. The chloroform and methanol extracts of Viburnum punctatum was taken at three different concentrations (100μg/ml, 200μg/ml and 400μg/ml). The methanolic extract showed profound activity when compared to chloroform extract due to presence of phytoconstituents in large amounts. Keywords: [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
