STUDIES ON THE MORTALITY OF HELICOVERPA ARMIGEREA (HELIOTHIS) LARVAE AT DIFFERENT TREATMENT WITH LEAVES EXTRACT OF LANTANA CAMARA AND IPOMOEA FISTULOSA

Abstract

The high intensity of chemical application has become a serious cause of concern in recent years. Although the use of pesticides is comparatively small in India, the damage caused by them to the environment and health is already event. Plant products have been successfully exploited as insecticides, insect‟s repellents and insect‟s antecedents. Lantana camara and Ipomoea fistulosa have insecticidal, anti-ovipositor and growth- regulating effects against field and storage insect pests. In present investigation we found the highest average pest mortality with 100% conc. of leaf extract of Ipomoea fistulosa and Lantana camara after 48hrs duration it was 74.48 and 72.48 respectively in case of Helicoverpa armigerea (Heliothis).
