Abstract A green, simple and efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 9-substituted derivatives of 6,7-dihydro-6,6-dimethyl-9- (4'-phenyl) tetrazolo [5,1-b] quinazolin-8(3H,5H,9H)-one via a multicomponent one pot three molecule condensation of 1H-tetrazol- 5-amine, dimedone in acetonitrile and iodine with different substituted aromatic aldehyde . Newly synthesized tetrazolo[5,1-b] quinazolin- 8(3H,5H,9H)-one derivatives were screened for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.
