A CLINICAL STUDY OF ARJUN ON HRIDA-ROGA (ANGINA PECTORIS)

Abstract Ayurveda, the science of life, was developed on the fundamental concepts of nature and its various components which are present on the earth in the form of living (plants, animals) and non living (minerals) substances. In ancient period, Indian scholors observed that the diseased state of life is a hindrance to saving the soul, which is an ultimate aim of the life. The drug Arjuna is of natural origin and in use since ancient times i.e. 1000 BC. Various research scholars as well as medical researchers found its activities as anti-ischemic, hypotensive, anti-anginal, improvement in TMT performance, improvement in sign and symptoms of heart failure, anti platelet aggregating, hypocholesteraemic and arjuna as hridya (Cardiac) drug.
