DOCKING STUDY OF HUMAN HEMOGLOBIN WITH QUERCETIN.
S. Bakkialakshmi* and Jayoti Roy
Abstract The plant flavonoid quercetin (3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxyflavone) possesses wide range of biological activities in the human body by interacting with nucleic acids, enzymes and proteins. Human hemoglobin (HbA) is the most important metalloprotein of the human body. Docking study provides knowledge about the interactions between proteins and ligands. Molecular docking study helps to measure the distance of quercetin to hemoglobin. Binding energy has also been calculated using Docking study. Keywords: Quercetin, Human hemoglobin, protein interaction, docking study, Schrodinger software. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
