Abstract

The metabolic syndrome, a cluster of metabolic disorders often associated with visceral obesity, increases cardiovascular complications and mortality. Polyherbal therapy is said to be a current pharmacological principle having the benefit of producing maximum therapeutic efficacy with minimum side effects. The present study was carried out to evaluate hypoglycemic, lipid lowering and antioxidant activities of a poly herbal formulation (PHF) in fructose induced insulin resistance in rats.
