Abstract
This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of herbal Hepato stimulant products on productive performance and egg quality of layers. The experiment was conducted on one day old BV-300 healthy 120 layer chicks. The chicks were divided into four groups with three replicates, each replicate having ten chicks using complete randomized design in layer house maintained under battery type cage system. Group T0 (control) fed with basal diet. Group T1 fed with basal diet + Xlivpro @ 250g/tonne of feed. Group T2 fed with basal diet + Brand A @ 500g/tonne of feed. Group T3 fed with Brand B @250g/tonne of feed. Parameters viz. productive performance (feed consumption and body weight gain and at 8th, 27th, 34th and 40th week), egg production, feed efficiency and egg quality (egg weight, egg yolk weight, egg yolk index, haugh unit at 27th, 34th and 40th week) were studied. Analysis of results revealed that, significantly increased (p<0.05) feed consumption and body weight gain in treatment Group T1, Group T2 and Group T3 as compare to control Group T0 at the end of 40th week. Egg production, feed efficiency, egg weight, egg yolk weight, egg yolk index, haugh unit had also improved significantly (P<0.05) in Group T1 Group and T2 Group T3 than control Group T0 at the end of 40th week. In T1 Group (Xlivpro premix) observed improved performance followed by Group T2 and T3, but significant variation was not observed within the treatment groups. (Brand A- Heaptocare premix, Brand B- Zigbir premix).
