COMPARISON OF CONSTITUENTS IN ALOE VERA GEL COLLECTED IN DIFFERENT SEASONS BY CHROMATOGRAPHY AND SPECTROSCOPY TECHNIQUES
*Archana A. Bele and Dr. Anubha Khale
Abstract FTIR spectroscopy, NMR and GC-MS mediated predominantfunctional group detection have been carried out for stabilized Aloevera juice- “A” collected in monsoon season and stabilized Aloe verajuice – “B” Collected in winter season. The study has been carried outto explore the seasonal influence of aloe vera gel in selection.Maximum transmittance in IR spectrum has been assigned tophenolic OH stretching followed by -CH, -CO CH3 resonances ofacemannan acetylation at 2.1 ppm for Aloe vera juice “A” and 2.11ppm “B” was observed in NMR spectra. Components vary in bothJuices in GC-MS spectra and possess certain activity. Onanalysis, it was observed that overall contents are more pronounced in the juice “B” than“A”. The present work shows that seasonal conditions of Aloe vera plays a decisive role incollection of Aloe vera leaves for making juice. Keywords: Aloe vera.
