Abstract
Oligozoospermia resembles Kshina Shukra in which sperm count is
below 40 million/ml. Kshina Shukra (Oligozoospermia) is quantitative
decline of Shukra. It is one of the Retodushti which is due to increased
Vata and Pitta Dosha. Ayurveda fundamentals describe that the drugs
with similar properties of any Dhatu nourishes that Dhatu. Vrishya
drugs directly convert into Shukra Dhatu after their digestion &
assimilation. So in current clinical trial, the drug Gokshuradi Vrushya
Yoga was planned. It contains six herbal drugs with Snigdha Guna,
Sheeta Virya and Madhura Vipaka as that of Shukra Dhatu. Clinical
trial was carried out on 11 patients. Patients were diagnosed on the basis of symptoms of
Kshina Shukra like Dourbalya, Bhrama, Panduta, Sadanam, Shrama, Mukhashosha,
Sandhishoola, Shukra-avisarga and semen analysis. Improvement in signs and symptoms of
Kshina Shukra with improvement in sexual health parameters and seminal parametres were
assessed after completion of treatment. Remarkable results were observed in the form of
improvement in all parameters of Kshina Shukra.
