INVIVO TRACKING OF BMSCs LABELLED WITH (Gd-DTPA) BY MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING IN MUSCULOSKELETAL TRAUMA
Perumal Saraswathi, Balaji Karuppaiah*, Nirmal Kumar. K, Kalyanapanchakshari.
Abstract In-vivo tracking of Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs)labeled with Gd-DTPA by magnetic resonance imaging serves as aclinical road map in treating of musculoskeletal injuries. Once BMSCsprogress is analyzed inside the body, it can be used as a giant tool intreating various diseases patterns. In this study, 1 Wistar rats and 6New Zealand white rabbits, weighing 130-150gms and 2 - 2.5kgs wereused. BMSCs were labeled with gadolinium diethylene triamine Pentaaceticacid (Gd-DTPA) and injected intraperitoneally intomusculoskeletal traumatized (MST) animals. After transplantation, migrations of cells to the site of injury is tracked by magneticresonance imaging (MRI). After 4hrs of injection, BMSC labeled Gd-DTPA cells observed with low signal intensity at the injured site. Keywords: (Gd-DTPA) gadolinium diethylene triamine Penta-acetic acid, (MRI) Magnetic Resonance Imaging, (BMSCs) Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
