EFFECT OF SNEHAPANA (INTERNAL OLEATION) ON LIPIDS AND HAEMATOLOGICAL PARAMETERS

Abstract

Snehapana is most important step before shodhana and in our classsics lots of importance has been given about its utility. Snehana leads to decides the total outcomes of the Shodhana Karma hence proper objective guidelines is needed for procedure of snehapana in controlled and effective manner and also for avoiding the Ayoga and Atiyoga and to achieve samyak yoga of snehapana. Now a days physician facing difficulty for doing panchakarma because of many life style disorders. If the Snehapana is not done properly then it may effects on outcome of biopurification (shodhana) and further it may lead to chances of complications such as hyperlipidaemia. Also in Samhitas mentioned that Panduta i.e. anaemia develops due to exccesive intake of snehapana and in complication of snehapana. So many symptoms that can be related or may occur due to changes in haematological parameters and lipids. Also there are many misconception regarding snehapana so in order to remove this misconception here is an attempt made to critically review in the lights of classical references and modern research findings.
