FT-IR, ACOUSTICAL PARAMETERS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF A PEPTIDE WITH ELECTROLYTE SOLUTIONS
*Padmavathy R., Dhanalakshmi K. and Jasmine Vasantha Rani E. and Radha N.
Abstract Amino acids join with each other by peptide bonds and build polymers referred to peptides and proteins. Infrared spectroscopy is certainly one of the most important analytical technique available to today’s scientists, is a technique based on the vibrations of the atoms of a molecule. Density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity have been measured for peptide with fixed concentration of electrolyte in nonaqueous medium at different temperatures from 278.15K to 298.15K. The basic parameters are used to calculate the solvation number (Sn), adiabatic compressibility (β) and intermolecular free length (Lf). In the present investigation, ternary system of peptide solutions are carried out and an attempt is made to corroborate the FT-IR results with acoustical parameters and antimicrobial study. Keywords: vibrational frequency, solvation, intermolecular free length, adiabatic compressibility, zone of inhibition. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
