Abstract Despite the global economic instability due to food crisis and fuel price rise, India is fast becoming a hub for clinical trials and is likely to grow to an extent of US $546 million by 2010 from current levels of less than US $150 million.[1] The market has grown at almost 400 per cent in the past two years and is pegged to grow even more by 2010.[1] To evaluate the adaptation of the pharmacy students with respect to the contemporary situation, a survey based on a set of questionnaires was designed and conducted in different pharmacy colleges of Bhopal. Study sample group was selected from the institute to evaluate their awareness about the clinical trials and the related aspects. Study sample group included 150 students pursuing graduation and masters. The response collected was evaluated and the inference revealed that only a small segment of students were aware about current trends in clinical trial industry. Finally the correct explanations were conveyed to them. Thus, a need to upgrade the current curriculum, adopt research oriented training, acquiring knowledge about the GCP, IPR etc. was felt.
