CUTANEOUS FUSARIUM INFECTION IN HIV POSITIVE PATIENTCASE REPORT

Abstract Fungal infections have been increasing in incidence in immunocompromised patients. Although Candida and Cryptococcus are most often isolated, opportunistic fungal infection caused by filamentous fungi, including Aspergillus and Fusarium are increasing. We describe an HIV positive patient without neutropenia, who develop characteristics skin lesions, due to Fusarium species. Early identification of Fusarium is important because of its high propensity to disseminate in immunocompromised patients, and often response to antifungal therapy. Keywords: .
