Abstract
Pinda concanensis is annual herb belongs to the family apiaceae. The
phytochemical constituents, total phenolic content (TPC) and total
flavonoid content (TFC), saponins, tannins and alkaloids were
quantified. Antifungal, antioxidant properties of the plant extracts
(methanol, ethanol and acetone) of Pinda concanensis were evaluated.
All the phytochemicals which were analyzed are present in the extract.
The methanolic extract showed the highest quercetin content (4.42
ppm-parts per million) analyzed by Reverse Phase High Performance
Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC) and also it showed greatest DPPH
(2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity. In
antimicrobial activity the screened fungi Aspergillus niger, Fuasarium
oxysporium, and Alternaria alternata exhibit significant activity against methanolic extract of
P. concanensis. The result inthis report is methanolic extract has high quality of
phytochemicals and excellent Antifungal, antioxidant potential.
