A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF EFFICACY OF PRIYANGVADI TAILA AND JATYADI GHRITA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF “DUSHTA VRANA

Abstract Chronic wound is a major hazard to the health care system. It causes long term agony and pain to the patient, pain and ugly look retards the patient from the society. If a person meets with an injury, wound is created and heals naturally with due course of time through normal cascade of healing events but if not managed properly or ignored they may turn into chronic or non healing wounds. A lot of treatment modalities have been developed so far by modern medical science for the management of wound, but it may leave harmful side effects behind or they leave a financial burden to the patients. In India a big part of population lies below poverty line and cannot afford such costly treatment. Keeping this in sense Ayurvedic text were explored and Priyangvadi Taila mentioned in Vangasen Samhita was taken for the study and its effects were compared with Jatyadi Ghrita already popular formulation effective in the management of Dushta Vrana (chronic/non healing wound).
