Abstract No doubt a good surgeon is required for a surgery to happen successfully, but the better outcome also depends upon the preoperative preparation done before surgery and the post- operative afterwards. Sushruta was well known to this in that era as well, so he emphasized on Trividh karma[1] (i.e Purva, Pradhan and Paschat karma).
